Project Overview

The critical project aims to enhance the region's electrical infrastructure by constructing a 110 kV transmission line that spans 17.45 km from Gahanga to Rilima and extends to the new Bugesera Airport. This initiative will support the growing energy demands associated with the airport and surrounding developments, thereby improving power reliability.

Key Tasks Completed:

• Survey Studies:Comprehensive survey studies were conducted to assess the best routing for the transmission line. This involved analyzing topography, environmental impact, and existing infrastructure to ensure an efficient and safe design.
• Foundations Construction: Strong and stable foundations for the transmission towers were successfully constructed. These foundations are essential for the structural integrity and longevity of the transmission line.
• Tower Erection: The erection of transmission towers has been completed, providing the necessary support for the overhead lines. This phase involved meticulous planning and execution to ensure the safety and alignment of each tower.
• Stringing and Sagging:The process of stringing the conductors and adjusting their sagging to optimal levels has been carried out. This critical step ensures that the lines are properly tensioned, minimizing wear and potential damage.
